I bought Easy Envelopes because I am new to Mac and was having trouble figuring out how to address 150 announcements and thank you card for my son’s graduation. Easy Envelopes was a huge time saver! I think some of the negative comments are due to people not spending a few minutes to figure out exactly how this app functions. Click around for 10 minutes and read the developer’s website. That helped me, and now I use it all the time. I love this app!

I mail merging a lot, but not in bulk, more like one-offs. Envelopes are always a challenge. This app has made my life so much easier. It’s so easy, I don’t ever bother mail merging envelopes with my letter merger anymore, as this makes printing envelopes effortless! Thanks for this! Mailing just got easier...

Having been a user of the first Mac version and the widget, this version surprised me, its not as easy or intuitive as the previous versions and it took some geting into before I figured it out, the lack of labels added to that, switching between single and mailing list took far longer to figure out than it should have, other than that it is still the best envelope printing program out there, thats not to say that its perfect….soon I hope.

Like Einstein’s description of acts of genius, the app wipes away all the inefficiencies and idiocies of printer design. After hours of trying to print simple envelopes from Word/Mac to my OfficeJet, wrestling with size, orientation, face up/face down, etc., I threw up my hands, typed “envelope” in the App Store search box, settled on EasyEnvelopes and, within 10 minutes I’d addressed 10 monarch envelopes neatly and handsomely in my choice of typeface. Thanks, Ambrosia. Now if you could only get my lost hours back...

Ive used EasyEnvelopes since the original days before the App Store when it was a Dashboard widget ad it is still the least hassle of any way to print envelopes that Ive found. Put in an address, click, click, done.

I was a fan of the widget, and now I’m a fan of the app. It does what I need it to do perfectly and probably a lot more. Works great with my HP multi function printer, and saves unsuspecting folk from trying to read my aweful handwriting ;) 4 stars instead of five for a couple reasons… first it defaults to printing the POSTNET barcode, whcih the help says is deprecated by the USPS. This is probably a symptom of the app not having an update for almost a year. That said, it seems to work just fine on Mac OS X Yosemite, so no big deal. Secondly, there’s a few other rough edges. But again, it allows me to type in an address directly into the app (not sure what other reviewers are talking about) and print it out. Easy.

Simple, easy to use. Still prints obsolete POSTNET barcode above address, which has been replaced by “inteligent Mail” barcode by US Postal Service.

A bit pricey. However, it was very easy to use - much easier than mail merge in Word and the old Pages. Interfaced seamlessly with my iMac contacts list. Very easy to edit envelope size. First one out of the printer was perfect. Worthy of 5 stars.

This app does allow you to edit the name before printing. You can’t even insert images. What a waste of money and I want my money back!

EasyEnvelopes does what it says and is somewhat easy to use although there’s little documentation, the FAQ isnt that helpful but the the screen shots will will help. The reality is that this doesnt do anything more then the whats built into printing in Contacts. It just makes it a little bit easier. My two biggest disappointments is that the area to put addresses on the emvelopes can not be resized so it limits you as to the type and size of font you can use. Also Its very sad that you have no control over size or placement of graphics on the envelope. The only thing you can do is put a little square image next to the return address which you can do in the Contact printing. You cant use a graphic in place of the return address and you cant put images elsewhere on the envelope. Its just $10 but thats a couple beers. You’d probably rather have those.

This app is horrible. Everything is OK until you try to print an envelope. Then it goes haywire. My MAC has never had a problem printing from an app until I purchased Easy Envelopes. The “free” version worked until I upgraded. Now it generates a print error every time. I contacted support for a solution. Support is worthless.

Yes, this app can print envelopes. It works. The custom envelope size support is quite elegant. However, there are several big problems. On recent versions of Mac OS X, text entered into the address fields can appear cut off if the address is more than a couple lines long, which means you have to type it in blindly. The Intelligent Mail Barcode feature doesnt produce barcodes that pass the USPSs validation - they dont encode the delivery point correctly and every envelope is printed with the serial number 0, instead of a unique serial. If you just want to print envelopes with addresses, and youre OK wading through a slightly clunky user interface, this app will work for you. If you want more advanced features, look elsewhere.

On the positive side, this application is easy to use and integrates with your Address Book. On the negative side, I have never been able to create a custom envelope successfully. Despite entering the dimensions and orientation information, the envelope prints in the wrong size and orientation. Very frustrating. The default, standard envelope sizes work perfectly. On the negative side, since installing OS 10.9.9 EasyEnvelopes crashes consistently whenever I hit the print button. I could not find anywhere to post a request for help and there is no “check for updates” link in the software. Evidently it is incompatible with Yosemite. Two weeks ago I submitted a request for assistance to Ambrosia Software. I have not received any reply from them. The software has not been updated since 2013.

I just printed out a ton of envelopes and it went perfectly with absolutely no errors. Anyone saying the barcodes don’t work are wrong: you need to go into Preferences and enter in your Mailer ID for Intelligent Mail barcodes, which is a USPS-issued number for business mailings. It took me five minutes to get one on the USPS website. If you don’t have one, you can use old style POSTNET barcodes, which also work fine, or just use no barcode at all. I even used an online decoder to validate that the Intelligent Mail barcode contained the right information, and it does. Anyway, the app does what I needed it to, although I wish it did address validation – but I won’t blame the app developer for what I know is a terrible (and expensive) USPS integration.

The app worked great with OS X 10.9 but since upgrading to 10.10 it just prints the entire envelope black. Seems the last update for this app was in 2013. Guess they’ve forgotten about the customer.

This app worked absolutely great a year ago (2013) when I needed it for Christmas card envelopes. Not so as of today, December 10, 2014. It will not work with Yosemite. Ambrosia support site says that “...conflicts between Easy Envelope and Yosemite have yet to be addressed.” Geez, ya think you might want to get to work? Can’t recommend this app to anyone now since it’s useless and they charge $10 for it. (Update) Just checked today April 28, 2015 and “SURPRISE” still no update:(

I’ve been using this app since it first launched years ago as a free app. While $9.99 seems like a high price tag for an app that nothing but print envelopes…this is the ONLY app that does its job perfectly. This is a one-trick pony that does exactly what’s it’s supposed to do.

This app is my favorite OS X apps becasue of the UI and the fact that it just works. Thanks for making an easy to use app for printing envelopes!

When I create a custom envelope size, Easy Envelopes screws up the alignment and prints the address sideways across the envelope. One star off. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. Who knows? I’ve submitted a bug report to Ambrosia twice. Each time, I get an automated response (saying that’ll I’ll here from them in a day or two), then total silence. When I try to follow up … more silence. Another star off. I’ll give it three stars because it works well enough for the built-in envelope sizes.

This makes printing envelopes as simple as it can be. It does one thing (printing envelopes) perfectly as opposed to envelopes being one additional feature of Microsoft Word. I used to hand write a lot of envelopes because it was quicker than messing around with the formatting in Word. It’s great. I had almost forgotten that software could be this simple and useful. You guys should make software for printing labels.
